Asus N750JV-T4055H

This is a short description of my experience / first impression of the product, no benchmarks etc that you can find plenty in many other places. It is not about the valuation of these 'review', I just want some pluses and minuses explain to people who are considering purchasing. First Impression The final finish is not perfect, the DVD tray is skewed, advertising stickers that (Intel, Geforce Energy Star, HDMI) were skewed stuck (already removed, I do not like that shit). Furthermore, the design does nice and tight. of around the housing is aluminum, the bottom plate consists of one piece. No tabs for RAM, battery-swap hard disk or, for that kind of business you have to unscrew the entire bottom plate. Display hinge feels solid .. Keyboard The keyboard has a surefire attack, but the keyboard layout is not practical imo, the arrow keys are included at the alphanumeric and numeric section, but with no space between them. You are so soon to ram instead of the> key and the 1 key instead of the ^ key. The 0 key Instead of the right shift you also save sometimes the ^-arrow at. There is not blind to work (yet). Missing separate Insert key (combined with the delete key). Positive is the long left shift key. No Num lock indicator and when you lap have the Laptop or close to you on the table, the indicator lights (power, battery, hdd, wifi and caps lock) is not visible. LAN The LAN port is equipped with a spring cover, I wonder how long that will continue. quite Once this has been broken down, the cable will be possible. No longer locked in place Really nice snap does a network is already out. Minus. perils Sound The sound quality of the Audio by Bang & Olufsen ICEpower 'is lousy, and impractical plastic subwoofertje is not really an improvement and seems out of phase. The sound is poorly defined, distorts fast and low-if any-very messy. Channel separation is also bad because the four speakers sit together in the middle. On the "Subwoofer" an inverted plastic cup with two "little speaker in it, is a cable of about 40 cm. The whole thing is very impractical and in my opinion Asus had better bigger speakers in the laptop left and right under the screen post instead of the bad pseudo-audio solution summarize. noise is extremely poor, and the term "multimedia notebook 'advertised here is certainly not applicable. BIOS in the bios there is no option to turn The Num Lock standard. there are no overclocking options. Also no boot sequence setting. Very briefly, so in terms of customization. Touchpad The multi-gesture touchpad worked for me initially pleasant, but if you work with it a little longer, the operation is bad and get some randomness. (by sweating fingertips?) Performance CPU runs smoothly only in battery mode, it seems to throttling and initially slightly less snappy response. It feels a bit like a motor that just means something when accelerating. As if he should be. Kicked awake It is minimal, but noticeable. No doubt that is improving. Settings in Power But if the power is connected, the performance is excellent. Battery The battery life is great, nothing to complain about. Only downside is that you can not disconnect the battery before it must first be unscrewed easily. The base Screen The screen is just fine, although it's not IPS screen is bright enough it seems to me (I have not yet been outside it), has a fairly large opening angle and with an anti-reflective coating (matt). HD resolution is also working very pleasant, but the letters are very small. A big plus is the position of the connections / ports, everything is on the sides. Fan The fan is audible as a slight noise, with heavier load clearly audible but not annoyingly loud. Verherherbouw Upon receipt, I leave the laptop for a few hours to acclimatise (charge on, then restart the Windows 8 installation completed and tested some. Everything functioned well, so it was time to spare him. progress The laptop screwed open, but before you can get to the components T4 Torx screws must be 14 (!) unscrewed. After removing the bottom plate, I saw that there is also a room was available for a micro SATA SSD, but that will be a very short copy must be given the space constraints. 's original drive (Samsung 1TB) I have first removed to an image (possibly because of guarantee) to make. For this disc resolves to make the battery needed to be removed ( 5 Philips screws). Then an Intel 530 240 GB SSD installed. Because I can not anyway manufacturer meuk love and Windows 8 not really appreciate, I have a fresh Win 8.1 Pro (OEM) installed. Meanwhile, the image was finished and I returned the Samsung disk. Asus Support During installation, I immediately approached at a disadvantage, imo-the-poor support regarding drivers from Asus. No driver pack in case you do a clean install. So you will have to find all the drivers, if you can find them. Anyway hand Also liked that on the ASUS website for drivers for this model are also drivers who are not on this model applies. This series is so obviously equipped with different types of hardware. Unfortunately, this laptop is also packed with Realtek junk, I am personally not a fan. In Device Manager (NL version, laptop for my wife used) is still one exclamation mark, but I can not really worry about it. Similarly, the technical documentation of the product is very bad, nowhere describes how, for example your memory can upgrade, replace / add hard disk etc. In other words, there is no technical manual, just a generic. What used to Asus was a strong point (comprehensive manuals / info / drivers) is now a serious shortcoming. Now sit on the laptop, no DVDs and thin booklets that there are, of that nonsense CE booklets (A6), the included user manual is very brief. Altogether it is a moderate machine to work. With an external keyboard and separate mouse works perfectly, but before that I have no LAPTOP purchased. ASUS also highlights the fact that these LAPTOP should be (!) Is not used on your lap , I hope there is still some time to. ahead with this overpriced desktop replacement In the near future, it is of course a dual-boot systeempje (possibly with a hypervisor). 15-01-2014 Edit: Now I have a couple of weeks the laptop, I can report the following: If I knew then what I know now I would definitely not buy this machine. Edit 16-2-2014: What things changed after two months in succession (not in use), I am in terms of ergonomics and multimedia performance deeply disappointed in this machine, especially after I again at a borrowed Toshiba worked. The Asus is a machine that looks nice, but the poor ergonomics impractical to use.
