Dell Inspiron 15R SE Review
Introduction
Since the beginning of May 2012, I immersed myself in the multimedia laptops with a price tag of around € 900, -. Indeed, it was the intention to choose the best one to buy and so around July it on. After all forums scoured have I joined two models, namely:. Dell XPS 15 (3rd generation) and the Asus N56 These two met both the requirements:
Quad-core processor Ivy Bridge generation
8GB Ram
Full HD Screen (MAT)
Backlight keyboard (chiclet)
Decent video card (just playing the occasional game, and often too old)
My budget was around € 1000, - but for that amount I wanted to have a 120 (or 128) GB SSD in it. Then it came down to it so that the laptop around € 850, -. Could cost Soon there were problems and differences with the model numbers of the Asus N56 series. CampusShop.nl sold a decent N56, but then again it possessed not have a backlit keyboard and had to leave to be desired on the screen. And later the prices of the new Dell XPS 15 were known. I guess I was not the only one that really freaked me out here. The basic configuration were indeed cost more than € 1,500 euros, this is still roughly double that of its predecessor. The specifications of this machine were very disappointing for the amount that was going to cost. I felt I was back to square one, until someone pointed me to the Dell Inspiron 15R SE. This is a one-time improvement in the mainstream (± € 600) 15R. Immediately I gathered all kinds of information about this laptop from the Dell Live Chat and review (which by the way, there were not many). At first glance knocked everything about this laptop. Possibility backlight keyboard and 7730M who stand in it. So it was a little later ordered this laptop. There were three possible 'start' configurations (with differences)
€ 799 - i5 & DVD Burner
€ 939 - i7 QM & Blu-ray
€ 969 - i7 QM, DVD burner, 32GB disk Msata
Unfortunately was not my 'ideal' configuration between, i7 QM with a normal DVD burner. Since I was planning to remove a caddy for the optical disc is a pity as an expensive blu-ray drive! After some asking around on the forum here on Tweakers, I decided to even ask if there was i7QM WITH and WITHOUT Blu-Ray. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the power brick, it is compared to my previous laptops, very small. (HxWxD 125x50x32)
Unfortunately, some short cables, the cable from the wall outlet to the power supply is 80cm. The length of the cable from the power supply to the computer is 170cm. I would still like to see what they are longer, but not the biggest problem. The laptop is a bit on the heavy side compared to other 15.6 "models, namely 2.76 kg. still an improvement over my old 3.6-pound 16 "Acer. It fell against the dimensions fishing again. Below the score that achieve the above components. Only the primary disk is a Samsung 830 SSD 128GB 5400rpm hard drive and no. latest course this is all opinion, but the laptop looks super neat! Everything feels sturdy and solid. Just because the cover of the cover can be changed is this somewhat 'loose', which surely is a bit unfortunate. Is that honey ridge pattern very pretty but very fingerprint prone. Or as Dell describes it: "Anodized aluminum in Stealth Black with etched honeycomb design" Over the keyboard, I am very happy, he types really delicious.
