3 days ago (Saturday) purchased at BCC, I have considered several models before I finally bought it. I have the Asus UL30 quickly removed from the list, not by its specs or the quality of the system, but simply because I find that appalling trackpad. Then went to the Sony 14'' looked, but I was not impressed with the screen (trackpa and keyboard again very good). Eventually there were two options on the Dell 13Z and this Acer. Price-wise, both devices pretty similar in terms of specs and also (if you take the 13Z with full options). Both have a DVD drive and be around 599 euros. Ultimately, the right were the deciding factors :). installation: What you really always know this, but what remains is all very annoying and unnecessary shareware software installed. This so first remove and then run all my programs installed. Go particular use the system for Internet, nzb downloads and now and then a movie when I am traveling. Installed programs: Firefox, SABNzb, FileZilla, XBMC, iTunes, Nero, Winrar, Skype and Avast. use I have not used the wireless system, but device just fine. Is not hot and is completely silent (my work laptop Thinkpad X61 12'' makes more noise). I will later ff add some pics, but it's not ugly machine (and no, not a macbook ) Preliminary conclusion Good device for the price and more than adequate for all standard applications. Update 13-02-2010 The setbacks: Yes that only then but hey . The keyboard is not the finest in the world. My work laptop (IBM X61) has really veeeel a better keyboard. Keys are quite heavy and sit as said on the keyboard. The build was in my opinion also liked some better quality. I'm used to pick up (even if open) my laptop with one hand and then you feel with this laptop the bottom right of cheaper material. Die stickers ... but yeah, every laptop, just why should that things much glue leave ... The windfalls: Laptop now used more. What really pleases me so far is the multitouch touchpad! That's really great for a touchpad then (I used an IBM thing). The screen is also very good and with XBMC on it, I can be delicious to my movies and series in HD. Battery. Even with full screen, the laptop for several hours with it. And for people with questions about games, I do not think this laptop there would be a star, but do not own a game on it, so can also say nothing about
