Apple MacBook MA700B / A

For years I wanted to buy an Apple computer. Of course, firstly because of the beautiful appearance (even if it is a matter of taste), and partly because they now also offers Intel stepped into what the future additional capabilities in Windows and Windows applications. Eventually I chose this macbook because I want to use my company where this mobile office than an ideal travel companion is his primary. - Packaging - I bought it new from Apple Centre Maastricht. Unpacking was a feast, one surprise to another, you come up against. A perfectly finished adapter in the same white color as the laptop, a box with the manual and DVDs that in itself already beautiful to see. And finally, of course, the laptop itself. Fine wrapped in a kind of polystyrene-like casing. The display was neatly hidden away from the keyboard with a soft foam sheet. - First boat - As is clear how Apple uses the end user experience a high priority has listed. One is led step by step through the first boat back. Windows XP also has something but not nearly as good as Mac OS X. However, it is similar to how Windows Vista it does now. They tap the name to the desired short user name, password, and so are all kinds of data. If desired, the laptop can be recorded equal to Apple so that it can be, if necessary, draw up the telephone helpdesk use. - Ease of use - I already had some experience with Mac OS X, but now you do a complete system for your own only have been a party. Not only graphical splendor hear, even though it is perfectly fine. Minimizing and maximizing your windows is beautiful and is just fun to do. Succession over again for the rest of the top overall user experience, coupled with the hardware you get a complete product. By this I mean that the function keys F1 / F12 have their own features. Of adjusting the brightness of activating Expose and the dashboard. Perfectly adapted to each other so. - Hardware - The laptop feels good to, he's a bit on the heavy side. But perhaps it is because he looks so small and you are therefore expected to be light. The finish is perfect, everything fits well together and together. Not a bad hinges or other problems. Under the hood he's perfectly fine with a nice Intel Core 2 Duo 2ghz you have a monster machine in your proverbial pocket. The memory of 1GB is more than enough for even heavier appliaties like Photoshop. The 80GB hard drive is initially a bit tight as he enters out-of-the-box pre-installed with all software. I decided immediately, but to install only the applications (and languages) that I wish that I was close to him again over 30GB eventually. Built-in iSight with microphone in combination with the software Photo Boat guarantees hours of fun. The many effects of Photo Boat regularly result in laughter. But the quality of the camera is just fine. 640x480 but haarcherp. My compliments! The video card is a pretty meager onboard Intel graphics with shared memory. For normal cases, it is a good video card with even some 3D capabilities for a simple (and older) game. No problem for me as I have done for the game, a thick PC but for some people it can be a problem. Drawback is that you have to move to the (much) more expensive MacBook Pro. This model also has a built-in slot-loading SuperDrive system. This is in the beginning to get used, no drawer tray but just a gap where you put your disk. I have not burned, so I can not say anything about it. However, a major drawback is that the DVD player is not to make region free. At least not without losing the warranty. And unfortunately there is no Mac OS version of AnyDVD software so it is unfortunately not solve. keyboard typing comfortable after you get used to. It is always a format other than an average keyboard and the keys are all standing apart whatever is strange, but ultimately comfortable typing. Built trackpad also works flawlessly and with the two-finger scrolling capability and the ability to right-click is it ideal for traveling. - Connectivity - He comes standard with several connectivity options commonly used are grouped on the left side of the laptop. 2 USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire 400 port, a mini-DVI connector and a 100/1000 mbit network. Mini DVI connector is a downside since you so there will have to pick if you want to use. an external display or television an adapter Intern is there a Bluetooth connection that I use with my Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse which works flawlessly now, and the Airport which also works flawlessly here. He has a good range, he can have trouble connecting to the network of neighbors that he does off should put a few tens of meters through walls. - Software - Standard supplies Apple, in addition to its stable and beautiful Mac OS X, a lot of software with it. Including iLife '06 with programs like iMovie HD, iPhoto, and several other programs keen on making life on the computer easily. Aside from iPhoto, I use any program it, so I give no judgment here. Also a 30 day trial included with Office 2004 and iWork '06. They are fine programs, but Office is quite pricey to purchase while there are also free alternatives such as NeoOffice and LibreOffice. iWork has to rely on its built-in templates which are stunning. Keynote is a wonderful Mac version of PowerPoint graphics with some very powerful tools. You also get some as complete packages with Comic Life lets you create your own. comics Works flawlessly with the built-in iSight. iTunes is a nice program for managing your music. collecitie Also fit perfectly in the whole OS. For the music buffs, there is expanding with several additional sample packs. GarageBand with some nice samples, This version is optimized for podcasting, including all kinds of sound effects and radio jingles like. A very nice addition. - Negatives - In the short time that I have my MacBook, I've had some problems with it. So I gave up after two weeks use dark spots on the wrist level. This was a known problem with Apple and was replaced happily without problems under warranty. The disadvantage is that you have lost your Mac a few days. too broke to me the motherboard on a day, that too is under the warranty but frustrating as you once your Mac a week lost. I hope for me at that problems remain, because the rest is really a perfect product. - Other possibilities - As I just mentioned provides the transition to Intel also some other advantages. It is now possible with Apple Boot Camp to install on the laptop. Windows (XP) This works in my experience hassle free. He divided the primary partition, and he can then begin installing Windows. After Windows is installed, all hardware support comes from a driver CD after all the hardware features of the MacBook (bluetooth, airport, trackpad, and even the isight) work flawlessly. An ideal solution for the switcher that some applications of Windows wants to take to the Mac.
