Specs and the like are all described in detail in the fine Tweakers review, but I think it's always nice when someone I can read back what user experience. Hence this brief review of my experience so after 2 weeks of use. After a private Macbook 13 "Air in 2011 to have been in use, I could figure out a Macbook for the case. What I liked very well to the Macbook Air, were The solid build quality, low weight and (no not the backpacker sized backpack) backpack factor: it fits perfectly in and tie handy for bike or traveling by public transport Moreover you do not fall style back if you have the backpack. your back lifting since the weight is pleasantly low. however the screen I found a little faded, but the SSD is an amazing experience as your regular hard drive as I was accustomed. What starts out quickly and the response of the OS and applications is unprecedented. Now I load the new MacBook Pro 13 "with Retina display nice returning to weight (positive), and the format also certainly falls within the backpack factor. Big disadvantage seemed to me the lack of a super drive (CD / DVD player), but experience with the Macbook Air learned that that particular feeling, and that you rarely a CD / DVD player need in practice. 2 Weeks ago arrived the MacBook Pro 13 "Retina with i5 processor and 128GB SSD, that still fit well within the available budget. terms of performance, it will not be flying high, but the Geekbench looks fine in my eyes: http://browser.primatelabs.com / mac benchmarks (6630 was the score) Daily use for me is fine: browsing, email, word processing, videos, it all goes smoothly and quickly What I did notice is that the creation of a new VPN profile a few seconds processing time costs. but that could be exemplary. Yeah and screen, tie really salivating So tight, sharp and colorful, even under Ubuntu 12:10 is a pleasure (dual boot installed) Under Linux you can play a little with the resolution,.. illegible small (+ - 2500x1660) to fine workable (+ 1600x1200). Under O SX I use the default setting "optimized for Retina 'and that's fine. The battery life is just top, it is easy for 10 hours work (browsing, email, termninal sessions etc.) and standby is that weeks along (at least 2 ;-) Featureset I gave a Sufficient since a UTP connection fails and a CD / DVD player. For that money they can easily loose a USB SuperDrive and Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter flour springs. Oh another tip: Order 1 to U.S. keyboard, at least that I find most comfortable working.
