Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 13 (NUD2EMH)

--- SHORT REVIEW --- The ThinkPad Edge 13 inch is designed for "small businesses". It has a business look, this model does not have a glossy "Member" (back of the screen is just dull). It features 4gig memory and a SU7300 CPU. The CPU is certainly not a powerhouse, but it is more than enough for office work and playing HDfilms. It belongs to the faster ULV processors at the time of writing (1080p youtube flash and 1080p usually falters, I have the hardware acceleration still can not get it to work). Positive: - Mobility: light laptop and very robust for a laptop of 500 -700 euros. No one laptop under $ 800 is as far as I know hot to the build quality of this thinkpad edge match. Noemingswaardige only place to be seen "flex", is the display itself. - Keyboard: The best (chicklet) keyboard ever made. And this is not an overstatement. No flex in the keyboard as we are accustomed to the more expensive ThinkPads, even for this budget range. I have many typed chicklet keyboards (all macbooks, dells, Asus UL30 etc etc) and the difference with the ThinkPad Edge is called. Seriously night and day Unbelievable. , you can adjust the position of the "Fn" and "Ctrl" key turn in the BIOS, which is a big plus for some. - trackpoint: I hate all touchpads (except the macbook touchpads). The trackpoint works just as we used to think of the pads, so good. - no glossy casing: matter of taste. - design is discreet but definitely not boring / rude: again, this is a taste issue. My sister likes this laptop hideous. :] - Webcam: quality is above average, it handles light in the dark. - Built-in 3G: so no USB dongle required for mobile Internet. - viewing angle of the screen is above average. Negative: - slightly more expensive than other ULV laptops comparable performance. But this is (for me) more than offset by the build quality, the trackpoint and keyboard which in my opinion is the best ever made. - battery life is average for a ULV laptop. 5-6 hours with brightness at 70% + surfing + wi-fi. - fans audible, but not too distracting. Fans have until now only been heard when I surf on the bed, in a busy area is negligible noise output of the fan. - no firewire and e-SATA connection. - no matte screen. - the display contrast and the maximum brightness is below average. Voila, this was a very brief review of the Thinkpad Edge. People who have any questions, I will try to answer in the comments.
