Lenovo Thinkpad T520 (NW64BMH) + 3 years warranty

I was looking for a new laptop and I was thinking about the first ultrabook from Dell or Asus did I do, but not chosen. I've always been a fan of Lenovo regarding business laptops, they are robust, fast enough and often pay close attention to the touchpad and keyboard which is important when you are behind the whole day and no external mouse at hand. Moreover, For me the look of a laptop is important, if you come with a Thinkpad with a customer sees that look better than when you walk with a Macbook Air inside. Those things are great for consumers, but professionally I am not a fan of. What also played a role is that they had an offer from central point, where I ordered it for EUR 699, - plus VAT. where most of the online stores only start at 1100 euros including VAT. It was a demo model, but the laptop is just brand new, the plastic had been more open, and he does not even smelled quite new, good deal so I thought. For the money I have saved with the deal I like a OCZ 60GB mSATA SSD bought drive and 4GB of additional memory installed (8GB total) and thus replace the existing 2 x 2 GB. 8 GB is the maximum of this laptop, but that seems more than enough to me. For those who are interested, so I bought this SSD: Pricewatch: OCZ 60GB Nocti And this memory (x2): Pricewatch: Kingston KTL-TP3B/4G The beauty is that the SSD drive in a separate lock is installed, the SSD drive is as large as a few keys on the keyboard and can thus supplement existing hard disk installation (in this GB case 320) so you have speed for your OS and high capacity storage with additional 7200 RPM 320 GB drive which, if you also want to replace a 2.5-inch SSD drive (see Figure 1). The installation is all a piece of cake anyway and you can therefore easily do yourself. So it is an 'average' laptop, it's not a speed demon, but he is certainly no slouch, especially after adding the SSD but it is or a business notebook, you should not expect there to be able to play MW3. Features The notebook is rich in features, as are 4 USB ports available, 2x USB 2.0 on the left, use as USB 2.0 1x eSATA port also the left and a USB 2.0 on the back right. Finally a laptop with not only two USB ports so what is from reductions. Other things that can be found on most laptops are also present such as a webcam, an SD card reader, a display port gate, 1394, a modem, network and Wifi. Also A fingerprint reader for authentication which works fine by itself. There is also recognition software available and the system is automatically locked when you walk away from your screen, so all useful business features. Lenovo software is very good, if you install the laptop once again this is not a problem. With lenovo system update it, and download it automatically installs all the software and drivers that come with the type of laptop. No messing around so long download with MSI loose particles. Screen The screen is not great, at least the resolution is quite low with 1366x768 which is quite reasonable at the low end of a 15.6-inch screen. Disturbingly, it is not just business and if you used the laptop does not matter so much, you're only slightly less room to multitask although you can connect. Course always an external monitor , the screen is matte, non-reflective. I personally hate those crystal bright screens ed nice home but not for the office. Building Quality and Design for a 15.6 "laptop is the ThinkPad strongly, very strongly. Left and right of the keyboard are two large speakers that certainly inches or 6 wide. So it's not a little boy, and that makes the laptop less suited for someone who travels a lot. The advantage of the great is cooling, no noisy fans or a hot chassis so you can not take him on your lap . That's all fine. too feel the laptop is very sturdy, like most ThinkPads do that and in my opinion it remains therefore one of the best business laptops. Keyboard an touchpad As already mentioned, the keyboard and above the touchpad are great. TouchPad feels rough and real profile which makes it very easy to operate, it is even a pleasure to work with. Also, the keyboard works very fine and it all looks very neat (see the pictures) . Battery life The battery life is always an issue with laptops, Fully loaded it is 3 hours with heavy use but it runs very quickly. However, a battery upgrade available to a 9-cell battery making it 10-12 with it should go, but what I read on other websites hour is an hour or 5 in practice. Price Also important is the price, the ThinkPad is a bit on the expensive side, and if there had been no demo model for this price I had paid for it I do not have 1100 euros. However, for that price you get quite a lot back and it may also cost something when you're eight hours a day in front of your laptop. Conclusion This laptop is provided for business use, definitely recommended. If you really need more mobility and battery life then go for the W or better yet the X series of ThinkPad. This is really a portable workstation and so not suitable if you're on a plane every week.
