Sony Vaio VGN-Ar71s

The laptop comes in a pretty boring box, but well packed. Besides the laptop sits in the box only what warranty documentation, quick start guide, and of course the adapter. No installation / recovery CD or printed manual, so, sorry. But then we come to the laptop itself. The laptop is very fast (you are also within a quarter finished the basic installation), is well built, well finished and quiet (apart from a small amount of high-frequency sound which probably did not hear 99% of people). The screen is beautiful, the resolution of 1440x900 is not extremely high, for a 17 inch screen, but for me it's certainly adequate. The colors are beautiful, nice and warm. Ghosting, etc. I can not perceive. Updating the drivers for the laptop is driven by a Sony Vaio update program. This works perfectly. I come away from Acer, where you had yourself one by one the drivers from the site / ftp pull and install. This was also a relief. Launch programs, updates, and select the laptop to do the work. 's graphics performance of the 8600m gt (in games) I have not tested yet, here I will have to make an update. 'm very positive I at least on the non- graphics performance. The two hard drives in raid 0 ensuring rapid combination. The internal memory is for things like Photoshop etc ample and probably will not cause any problems for games. The processor is clearly one of the fastest processors for laptops, processor intensive tasks (filters in Photoshop, 3D renderings in Autodesk Maya) can be easily performed at speeds that I'm not even used in desktops. As an added feature, the laptop BD reader / writer . Playback of DVD / BD goes perfectly, did burning not tested since I never really anything fire (put everything on hard drives) I will only have a recovery disc should burn in the absence of recovery discs in the box, so this I will also bring in the update of this review. Connections are plentiful. VGA, HDMI, USB, Firewire / iLink, etc. Most connections are neatly hidden behind panels. I must say that the tiny panel on the Ethernet and modem ports feels a little fragile, but which I never use. The other panels to feel fine. Like just about every brand of laptop's on the Ar71s a nice amount of rubbish (Norton, Google toolbar, etc.). But since virtually every tweaker will adapt his system to his wishes yet this is not a big problem, just a source of mild irritation because the first thing you want to do (while maintaining the existing Vista installation) removing software . So far, I am so very pleased with the Ar71s, it is still a great desktop replacement. For now, because I have not tested it with games, but I expect no problems here.
