Sony's Worldwide Studios making framework for open source development tools

Sony Worldwide Studios has Authoring Tools Framework released under an open source license. The ATF is developed in C # framework that use all the Sony game studios to build. Their development tools

The framework includes components with functionality that often recurs in development tools. Thus, the ATF provides support for deploying data processing such as copy / paste, synchronizing data in different views and open and edit simultaneously from different files in one application. In addition, there is extensive support for the development of the graphical elements in the tools and implementation of commands and menus.

ATF was within Sony among others used by Naughty Dog for the development of the level and shader editors for The Last of Us. The Dutch Guerilla Games used the framework to build a sequence editor for Killzone: Shadow Fall. In addition, the ATF was also used for the development of animation and scripting tools at several Sony studios

The source code is released under the Apache 2.0 license, and Sony has included several sample applications. The framework can be used with Visual Studio C # 2010 and 2012, to use lean on the ATF applications at least version 4.0 of the. NET framework to be installed.
