Asus Eee PC 901

Specs
The Eee PC 901 has the 945 mobile chipset from Intel, the Intel Atom N270. This line of processors is designed to conserve energy to go. The Atom in the EEE PC is clocked at 1.6GHz, but can be dynamically by the software present under or overclocked to 1.2 GHz or 1.8 GHz, respectively. The Eee PC also features 1GB of RAM and two SSDs. The SSD 4GB contains the operating system, in my case Windows XP. There is also a version of the 901 with Linux, but you do not see often in the shop in the Netherlands. The 2nd SSD 8 GB in size and is for data storage.
EEE PC also has a Bluetooth module and a wireless draft-N card on board. The 1024x600 screen is a nice middle ground in terms of size and perfectly adequate for browsing and word processing. The sound in the EEE PC is acceptable, although this is obviously not one of the reasons to purchase one. Device to
the multitouch pad seems at first a bit useless, but I start scrolling with two fingers, and in and zoom out or to appreciate (note, this works only after installing the drivers for the multitouch pad, Internet download) Software As reported my EEE PC 901 was shipped with Windows XP. After configuration of the system Windows pleasantly fast start. Also this laptop has remained unfortunately not spared when the crap software was distributed, so a quick clean-up with unnecessary software is not necessary. I have OpenOffice taken off himself, for the road is also installed Works perfectly adequate, and the default installed compatibility pack for Office 2007, you open any file without any problems. Achievements I have no real benchmarks run, but from other reviews I have seen that the Atom N270 is comparable to an Intel Pentium 3 1 GHz. That may sound pretty small, but for such a netbook is more than sufficient. You need a device like this is not seen as a replacement for a powerful PC, but more as a supplement. In general use, I have not experienced the EEE PC IIG as too slow. Include MATLAB, I have to run, and that was still quite nice. Here again, not to run all kinds of simulations using the Eee PC, but here you are programming simulations or the like when you're on the train, or in a free hour, and do it 'number crunching' hard PC. Qua games I have Red Alert 2 and Galactic Civilizations 2 to run, and run both perfectly. mobility and ergonomics due to its small size and efficient hardware, the EEE PC 901 very long time on the supplied battery. With normal use, you easily get 5 hours. Same small dimensions ensure that the keyboard is also small. I myself have no problems with it, but it is advisable to try it out in the store. Conclusion Overall, I am very pleased with the Eee PC 901, particularly the length of time you can work on battery makes this Netbook very suitable for me. The weight also makes sure that you get the EEE PC picks up quickly to sit on your couch or in your purse. Only downside for me was actually the price ( ) and the fact that fingerprints quickly visible on the housing. I look again on my train this Friday!
