Tomb Raider - Legend, Xbox 360 Review

Introduction

Tomb Raider: Legend was the first game I bought for my Xbox 360 last year. I had not played for a while on consoles (read: a few years) and so was actually looking for something that was challenging, but also pretty easy to get used to the controller. For herintreder if I was a game like Tomb Raider obviously an excellent choice. It is one of the greatest game series, and there are even two films made. Reasonably so popular, even though he is usually in the budget bins.

Booting

Keep your hands off the knobs off while starting the game. If nothing is pressed, then starts a nice movie where you can see what predicaments you can sit. Half a minute later good A nice overview of the most graphic parts of the game, a kind of trailer say. Press once to start and you get to the main menu. Croft Manor Have a lot of game experience, then you immediately want you to get used to running with a new game, choose Croft Manor. Croft Manor is the favorite house of Lara and is in pretty much every Tomb Raider game. That house is almost as icon as the character itself, given that they have even stopped in the two movies. Unless you drown yourself in the pool, it is impossible to go into Croft Manor, ideal death. Enemies you will not encounter or puzzles, lots of puzzles. Enough bronze, silver and gold rewards to advance them to pack for your achievements couple well and truly in the game, of course, is always nice. You first have to play the first level for Croft Manor in may, but the first level is a breeze. Rewards In every level you will find gold, silver and bronze rewards in various forms. Most are well hidden through secret passageways, cabinets, cases, puzzles and collect them all without a walkthrough is almost impossible to do. Even after the complete play of the game and a number of levels to play again I miss it every level certainly two or more. Nice is that additional content can unlock in the game, for example a set of 100 object models, or a whole wardrobe full of clothes for Lara, as snowsuits, swimsuit, or the original outfit from Tomb Raider with a certain number of these rewards 1. The concept drawings are very nice and have a clear idea how the creators have designed the game. The rewards have a different appearance depending on the location in the world where you are, there is very well thought out. Storyline new is that you are not 100% in chronological order from place to place, this time in the world, occasionally there will be a flashback beyond which you play the young Lara, or is there a movie beyond the youth of Lara. There are as many as 60 of those between movies in the game that connecting the different levels and it really gives you the feeling that you are in the story. The beautiful, exotic locations are helping to enhance the atmosphere. Lara goes back to the past, looking for a portal in Bolivia, similar to the portal what her mother swallowed in Nepal when she was 9 years old. To activate the portal, they will have to get the sword Excalibur. Tell us more about the storyline would be a complete spoiler, so I'll stick with a link to the storyline on Wikipedia . Gameplay Tomb Raider Legend is a single player game, where you are in the tracks of Lara Croft, heiress of Richard for the seventh time and Amelia Croft and a famous archaeologist / treasure hunter. Tomb Raider is an adventure game, you play in third person and constitute a serious attack on your puzzle skills. You'll have to climb, puzzle, shooting, running, swimming and jumping. Platforms are interspersed with acrobatic horizontal flagpoles and even some racing scenes at Ducati's. Occasionally you get cutscenes where you successively to press to Lara to make. Automatically certain movements on certain buttons You do not do that then you get very comical movies they croak. They have at least something for everyone stopped in TR: L. It's a shame you can play the game within 10 hours or even complete within an hour or two in Time Trial mode. Mine would've liked a little longer, but I had to have. Not really the idea of missing something , the replay value is very high, you can play the game on easy, medium or hard difficulty setting with each new extras unlocked again. After that you have already mentioned the Time Trials games, cheats unlock additional (and achievements). And it costs you certainly play a few times before you have found all the rewards. All in all this you can certainly still an hour or 30 sweet for all the puzzles you've figured out. As a result, it is not so bad that the game takes itself a few hours. The controls are a bit tricky, because the camera is not always good turns with what you're doing, and at times when you for example to a wall is suddenly occupies a different position, so you can not look behind you. Sometimes you have to jump into that side and then you have to look at what you need to do before you start the climb. Regarding the whip for Indiana Jones, the magnetic lasso for Lara Croft. Allows you already catching hold of something, grab objects that are far away from your face or pull enemies towards you. You use it so often that there is even a website that TR: L has an alternative name: Tomb Raider Grapple Additionally, you need a flashlight that difficult enough Personal Light Source hot and has a battery rather quickly deflates, but faster fills again. Also, you have a pair of glasses, which you can see if you can do something with objects in the room in which you stand. Actually completely unnecessary, since all you can do anything is a kind of brilliance or smile. Enemies Enemies consist here and a leopard with the AI of a rabbit and armed mercenaries. Furthermore, a number of different types of bosses at the end of each level. Each boss has some weaknesses - if you really do not come true, then you can on YouTube find various video walkthroughs. There is initially a part where you have to walk on a concrete kind of see-saw, but walking on the ground a leopard. Leopards are known that they can climb, but even if the beginning of the see-saw in front of him is, he does not climb on it. In fact, he just walks past you off without looking at you, because he only comes back to you when you step off the seesaw and stand on the ground. Very entertaining, but not really realistic. music, sound effects and voices in the background you usually hear some music, alternative music, though. It certainly does not DeltaLight fits. It enhances the atmosphere for sure. However, the prize goes to the vote - it's like they have hired professional actors. Every person has his own voice, his intonations and when they cry, they actually shouted. This is undoubtedly the best aspect of the entire game. Hopefully they do it in future games, whether Tomb Raider-related, by pulling because it really is a breath of fresh air compared to the dead voices of example Two Worlds. bugs in the game , however, I had once suffered from the fact that the game stuck because I could not finish the boss. due to a bug in the game I'm not the only one who had that problem as evidenced by the many topics on the official Eidos forum and various gaming sites. One of the bosses is a large snake, you must defeat by dropping. 4 bed on his head For that you need, your magnetic lasso but yeah, that did it at that level, not by a bug. The only solution is to furnish Eidos restarting the level blanks and then hope that you have not even encounter the bug. So I have the level Kazakhstan and the level then with the hose so played two three times before I do not encountered the bug. Additionally, you need a bug, if you can beat the X360 crashes when the snake you to the England level goes. You can then only reset and try again. The first problem occurs in all versions of the game, second only to the Xbox 360. Conclusion All in all it is quite a fun game, with beautiful exotic locations around the world (and Cornwall). It is a nice addition to the previous series of games. Unfortunately, it is still a little buggy and seems Eidos nothing to fix, but if you just tidy some savegames stores, there is little to worry about. Graphics not the best, but for entertainment scores this game just high eyes.
